Choosing an ID should have a cost/premium associated with it, else it grabs the youngest noun. The older the noun the higher the premium to pull that noun. I am super against equalizing the cost of noun IDs. Basically ruins the entire idea of early membership.

@el4d made a good point, that we probably would never add DAO low ID nouns into the pool. So we wouldn't really have to worry about noun age much. However, creating a value stream from people's choice in the noun they want is interesting. Take the youngest noun for free, or pay for choice.

Agreed on some kind of ID cost. You could imagine paying some kind of tax (Harberger or otherwise) to keep an ID reserved. The tax could also generate a treasury that $NOUNS holders could allocate independently

(Probably not an issue in V1, since people can stick to only depositing newer Nouns until it’s in place)
