Why 1 second blobs? Does this create a new scaling contraint on packet size? Cant this be abused by creating a huge malicious blob? I imagine you are using system clocks too? Why not have a logical clock and have gossip blocks monitonically update so you can guard against retries payloads

Harder, in the sense that I think most machine graded programming assignments wouldn’t exist, thus adding more weight to proofs / theory. For *actually* learning much easier though. After the initial problem is solved curious students have an endlessly patient tutor to iterate/optimize solutions with.

Would love to see what we can do from the Stripe side to make 3 easier!

Ahh yes, with a few concurrent txns a failure in MPC in one of them could really mess things up — how do most folks solve this currently? Just limit throughout?

How so? Does this not reduce to n-peer consensus on a monotonically increasing int?

But assuming both, I think something along the lines of “a group of entities which 1) construct and 2) continuously agree upon a piece of information without any party knowing it in entirely” …the natural response is always “how is that even possible?!?”

Broad spectrum there as well! Both key generation and signing are separate processes which can be done in a multi-party fashion or not.

I assume you mean DKG + TSS? MPC is literally just multiple parties computing something and is not algo specific

From an infra level, Apple / google need to support the curves to do true crypto signing on device. Absent of this, I think fast server-side MPC will get us there. From the app level, we just need compelling UX and strong builders to break out of the crypto-skeuomorphic mold

Allowing stores to programmatically interface with their customers in a way that traditional payments systems don’t. Evolving from transaction to interaction. (I would argue that stores are “wallet aware” today - just over a very limited api that payment rails expose)
