ITAP of 🐊 Our hike through the mangroves in Celestún ended early yesterday after running into a huge crocodile blocking the path. They say the water is red from the keratin in the bark of the red mangroves. I think this guy had something to do with it 😱

Makes for a cool photo, but that's scary! Knowing the crocodiles could just pop up on the walkway would be enough for me to not hike that haha

And it happened just like that. We were just walking with our guide and turned a corner and boom, he was there. The guide said he had never seen one on the path. The crazy thing is, this was right next the swimming hole where tours normally stop to swim but we couldn’t because it was murky from all the recent rains. Hard pass. 50 $degen
