Well, that seems crazy, and like a death sentence as you've said! My intro a couple weeks ago was a World Championship similar to this gif where it's controlled and judged at least. 

Humans do some weird, life-risking shit though, so not surprising that shallow rivers are on the list too.

I’ve seen this crazy guy on TikTok who does dives like this into shallow rivers and shit, definitely going to end up filming his own demise one of these days.
