I don’t see Web3 as being all about “decentralization”. That that is not fully possible is clear. And currently an irrelevant standard imo. To me, web3 is about the “democratization of value exchanges” between builders of products, and users of those products.

So it’s about tech (digital ownership, tradeable with tokens, transparent on blockchain) enabling a new economic relationship between these 2 parties. In theory this tech enables us to create a more fair and equal playing field of “doing business”. Our task? Build and prove it.

We are early. Everyone is figuring it out. It is a wild west and we definitely experienced (part of) a gold rush. This has always been the same. At every moment when an emerging technology brings new opportunities to improve on the the previous version of something (Web2).

It is easy to dismiss what is happening, and what is possible. Anyone can do that. What is harder is challenging yourself, and others, to think about what can (and should!) change for the better. It’s also fun! I mean we are here. Most of the world has no f’ing clue. Let’s gooo
