does anyone know of a notes tool or notes extensions that update in the background? i like having my notes structured(eg i have a cool template on /obsidian) but doing the "digital gardening" work to make sure i'm taking notes/tagging notes in the right place gets in my way sometimes i want the computer/a notes tool to just understand the context around the notes i'm taking and do the tagging for me in the background similarly i listened to a podcast from the notion cofounder the other day talking about how ai should be updating dbs for us & i think this in particular is a great use case for that

seems like a @wanderloots.eth question if he doesn’t mind me tagging him. 🫡

Not at all, thanks Brad! @dylsteck.eth a few thoughts: 1) smart connections plugin for obsidian is a way to auto generate tag/topic suggestions, it gives a score for the relatability 2) there are other AI plugins for obsidian auto tag/topic suggestions, but I haven’t tried them yet, you can get into local models so you’re not wanting to upload your data too That said, one of the key benefits of digital gardening, imo, is making those connections yourself. It takes longer, but the connections are deeper because they’re aligned with your own unique form of intuition. I have a video about this :) and then another video that shows how to publish your obsidian notes into a free digital garden, and another video that shows how to leverage automatic actions in obsidian to auto organize your vault.
