I feel like I knew about this when I was a child, but others around me wanted the opposite of this, to be normal, to live a life they understood, but now I understand even more how wrong that is, and being true to yourself and how you are is more important.

feels like all school and training and cultural institutions push against this over the long haul. Maybe a bit of a shift over the last 10 years to more accepted.
