are there any non-warpcast farcaster apps that allow for farcaster fid registration (signup)?

A follow-on question for me is does sign in with Farcaster work still when you generate your ID in another client/wallet? My sense is that it doesn’t unless you load the keys into Warpcast mobile app/wallet too. If true, shouldn’t it be called sign in with Warpcast , not Farcaster.

@dwr.eth are you able to set me straight on this one? Warpcast is a mobile wallet client not just a Farcaster protocol client right? “Sign in with Farcaster” looks to be a sign in with Ethereum pattern that only works with the Warpcast mobile app. Am I missing something?

motivation is to avoid miscommunication regarding this so folks who care about decentralization enjoying the great on-boarding UX around here aren’t confused as to what lives at app layer vs the protocol layer. Empathize that if my above assumptions are true, it lives across both, but there’s optics here.
