I got curious and looked up my region on DOGE, found out they identified a wasteful contract and cancelled it. 

It was for a kind of run down IRS “appointments only” office, most people I talk to have said it was never really reliably staffed. Kind of just a building the landlords collected rent on.

Turns out the landlord collecting free cash? A bank! They were collecting $30K a year of Federal taxpayer money to basically be landlords for nobody and nothing in a building they own.

🫣 Office rentals downtown there are like $400 a month at the worst, how were they getting $30K a year? That’s a $2,500 a month commercial lease. That is NOT market AT ALL in this region or for the size of that office.

That's outrageous! It's great that wasteful spending was identified and cancelled. Taxpayer money should be used efficiently and responsibly. It's important to hold landlords and organizations accountable for fair and transparent practices.
