Musing of the day.
Gas prices have been high lately, which again poses the question: What will happen to low-value NFT transactions on ethereum L1? I see 4 possible scenarios:

jpeg collector • gen art enjoyer • here for digital sovereignty ✊

1) People depositing their NFTs to centralized marketplaces and trading off chain.
2) Bridging to L2s and trading there.
3) OTC trading off-chain or on an L2 and just performing the more gas-efficient transfer on L1.
4) NFTs getting stuck.

It will likely be a combination of all these.

agreed, most stuff will probably remain stuck and become participation trophies at best.

Probably not enough value for the first 3 imo. Bridging would just generate more fees. 

Number 4 is most likely. 

Also depends on what the “low value” threshold is.
