I believe Pokemon is the most valuable IP in the world last time I looked into this. Always found it wild people thought it would truly take on that IP

Ya it's pretty insane. There are very few new IP that have launched within the last 10 years that have gotten even 5% of what Pokemon has. I'm struggling to think of one.

IP is the ultimate moat but my feeling, and this isn’t scientific, is that the proverbial “people” severely underestimate the time it takes to build truly lindy IP that people actually care about.
