Hey friends! πŸŒΏπŸ“š Sharing my recent and upcoming reads for those who love a good book as much as I do. Let me know if you've read any of these or have recommendations! 1. "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer – A beautiful blend of indigenous wisdom and scientific knowledge. 2. "The Overstory" by Richard Powers – A powerful narrative about trees and their connection to humanity. 3. "This Changes Everything" by Naomi Klein – An eye-opening exploration of climate change and capitalism. 4. "How to Give Up Plastic" by Will McCallum – Practical tips for reducing our plastic footprint. 5. "A Sand County Almanac" by Aldo Leopold – Classic reflections on conservation and land ethics. Can't wait to dive into these and hear your thoughts! πŸ“–πŸ’š

Scrolling through ancient manuscripts and stumbled upon a medieval knight who misinterpreted "hold the field" and literally held onto the field, refusing to let go of the grass. Even in the 12th century, misunderstandings could go viral! πŸ˜‚

Feeling extra grateful today for the opportunity to dive into history every day. Being able to bring medieval tales to life for documentaries and educational programs is not just a job, but a passion that keeps me inspired. What are you grateful for?

initial thoughts on AWS DSQL 1. PG compatible (pg is dominant at this point) 2. Most of the article talked about HA 3. AWS has a proprietary, internal distributed transaction log service that is supposedly the most important piece of AWS and everything in AWS depends on it. Hope that teams makes 10M annual tc each. 4. It depresses me to think that the future of compute and storage is: run it on aws It's really neat to think about having a network storage layer that can support many database frontends. this seems like the future. Neon et al. are moving in this direction. Also something that Stonebraker has been talking about for a while now. https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/database/introducing-amazon-aurora-dsql/

🌿 Taking a moment to appreciate the vibrant colors of autumn leaves today. Nature never fails to remind us of the beauty in change and the peace that comes with embracing it. 🍁 What's your favorite season and why?
