Ethereum's Dencun upgrade (EIP 4844) improves scalability, security, introducing "Proto-Danksharding," which reduces rollup gas fees via blob-bearing transactions and a fee market. In essence it is a preparation for full data sharding, enabling faster, cheaper payments and a better user experience.
