Card sorting is a special UX research method used to identify users' mental models of your digital product's information architecture (IA). In other words, card sorting can help users find information on your site more easily.

In this method, participants sort individually labeled cards into groups according to the criteria that matter most to them.

To conduct a card sorting session, give each participant an unsorted set of cards. Then ask participants to sort the objects, information, or concepts into groups.
