Shiba Inu (SHIB) Shiba Inu (SHIB) is the second largest meme coin project, with a market cap of over $11 billion. Shiba Inu was created by Ryoshi in 2020 as a competitor to Dogecoin, and is intentionally abundant with an initial total supply of 1 quadrillion. Unlike Dogecoin, which operates on its own chain, Shiba Inu is issued as an ERC-20 token and is compatible with the larger Ethereum ecosystem. Shiba Inu has also launched its own Layer 2 – Shibarium, which has recorded over 417 million transactions since its launch in August 2023.
