The DeepSeek emergence should be a point of inspiration for Europe. Europe is lagging behind the US and China in investment and more importantly development, particularly in fields like tech and AI — if EU countries (and the UK) can rejig their wider economic approach they will reap the rewards. The idea of closing the gap to the US and China does not even need be the goal.
