US GDP and core CPI will be the drivers this week, while politics will continue to bubble away. Do we think that the rest of this cycle is going to be driven by the outcome of the US elections?

Politics has bought BTC back recently but central banks this week, the US Fed and Bank of Japan, will define the direction from here. Stay alert.

US Payrolls data shows continued strength in the American economy, smashing estimates . This hit BTC overnight, as well as other risk assets, but the Fed is unlikely to react at this week’s FOMC meeting. This dip will likely be limited!

A lot to talk about here. Geopolitics has possibly been driving gold appreciation as governments afraid of dollar confiscation shift into the metal and out of US dollars. Do BTC and ETH follow this narrative as well? I understand this not being great for alts as this is risk off. Thoughts?

So US payrolls data was strong again… does that mean the Fed don’t cut? I don’t think it matters, I think it means that they are stimulating the economy by some means, which means inflation, which means debasement, which means we hold BTC. Complicated, but everything is these days!

The Fed seems like it is comfortable to let inflation remain above target, while starting to bring rates lower this year. This is good for risk assets and hence good for crypto. They also seem keen to slow QT!!! This is all good news!

Macro forces, with the BoJ hiking for the first time in 17 years, and the FOMC tomorrow, causing pain for risk assets… including crypto! What happens next?

Stronger CPI data leaves BTC deciding whether it is an inflation hedge or a risk asset! What do you think?

US CPI tomorrow is going to be important… Gold is telling us where the risks are, with market fearing a bounce. What does BTC do on a high inflation print this time?

Last nights US Payrolls number will give the confidence to the Fed that they can land the soft / no landing. This should give investors confidence and keep the inflows coming and see clean new highs for BTC and ETH? soon!

Institutional interest and inflows are driving BTC even with interest rates in restrictive territory. What happens when we get an ETH ETF and central banks are cutting rates?

It was an interesting week for markets. Equities, led by NVIDIA, pushed higher giving credence to central bankers talking down rate cuts. This pushed bond yields higher, which in itself is a negative for crypto markets. However, the AI boost and ETF narrative offset these negative headwinds.
