Bile acids, these small molecules synthesized in the liver, are not only good helpers in digesting fat, but also guardians of intestinal health. When they enter the intestine, they undergo wonderful chemical reactions with the bacteria there, producing a series of secondary bile acids. Among these secondary bile acids, there is a molecule called isoallo LCA that is abnormally abundant in the intestines of centenarians.
