Modern football began in 19th-century England. The Football Association (FA) formed in 1863, with Ebenezer Cobb Morley drafting the rules. The Cambridge Rules of 1848 influenced these laws. Charles W. Alcock organized the first FA Cup. These efforts created today's football.
