The plan was never to win the war. This stump was cut down, chainsaw splitting at least 4 major roots, drilled holes into, burnt down 3 inches, and finally axed and split to the best of our strength so that it now sits flush with the ground. I’d say I’m happy with a draw so we can move forward with making this into a front yard orchard.
