The Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm is often misunderstood. Unlike PoW, it doesn't rely on energy-intensive mining. Instead, validators "stake" their own cryptocurrency to participate in the validation process. The more stake, the higher the chances of being chosen to create a new block. This approach is more energy-efficient and scalable, making it an attractive option for many blockchain projects.
