The deterministic deploy proxy helps your deploy any given contract's bytecode at a deterministic address - it sidesteps needing to deploy your own factory contract to do similar. A factory contract typically only deploys a given contract's bytecode; whereas the deploy proxy could be used to deploy any contract.
