I know i would ellicit such response, if im left with choices I think are both wrong, and don't have the power to add my own choice to the table, i'd rather not participate on something i think of as a circus.

Same happens everywhere I noticed.
Here in Belgium we had the first elections where it was not obligated to vote and only 60% showed up.

People just don’t believe in politics anymore. And thus don’t vote or vote extreme. 

Don’t think it’s hate, but just being tired of the same group doing whatever they want anyway.
