this is a new user deterrent; i’ve talked about this before too would be good to wipe the bots from follower counts what would you think if you were new here & saw an outsized number of accounts with 50,000+ followers getting 1-5 likes per post? you’d think this place is a ghost town

But wiping bot accounts would be a bit difficult as I’ve seen some real account behave and cast like bots 🤦♂️

yup this feels like an easy bandaid; plus no need to mess with the actual accounts

they can just come back and count again 😂 i dont think any of the auto-follow lists OG's cares about the number, its a worthless vanity metric if it doesn't come accompained with the engagement you'd expect from the people for example that has 300k followers on the other app

twitter has removed bots/inactive accounts from follower counts several times so I don't see the issue warpcast also already nerfs likes/recasts counts of bots, why not follower count?

no, don’t think most care about it anymore but certainly did when daus were going up haha realization set in that’s it’s the same 1000 people on the feed despite whatever number is presented there tho i think the comparison to x is exactly where this starts to become meaningful & all newcomers will make that comparison first
