this kinda ties into @sea's answer about curation vs. creation over the past year i've changed my mind about "taste" it's more of an abstract concept i've changed my mind about, rather than a "yes or no" situation taste is a product of it's environment, you take away the environment and it's free game "good taste" is recursive in a sense bc you are recognizing what others with "good taste" recognize as good lol however when creating something new that people recognize as "good taste", you are breaking the recursive chain essentially good taste does not make a good designer/creator taste in a sense does not exist (can be argued) when you are the one creating it
