First thought; Even more abstraction when spending magical internet money. 

More practically; It would be an uphill battle for adoption. Look at the early push for bits as a unit of account in the Bitcoin space. Sats are still the standard for low denominations which are the lowest unit and 1/100th of a proposed Bit.

But ETH doesn't yet have a standard for low denominations, right? So couldn't this be ETH's version of sats?

Ah, for some reason I thought those terms were only used for gas. That makes sense

Wei and Gwei would be the equivalent but they are equally impractical for e-commerce.
