You can still only hunt with 5 creatures every 8 hours even though there are 2 zones open right?

Yep. However, that system is changing pretty significantly in the next big release (hopefully live early August). There will be an energy based system instead of the strict time-based system

Ok cool. Same thing for gym leaders? 12 hour global cooldown? Or can I challenge in the whispering wilds and then also go challenge in the molten abyss
