Thinking about @zora's "everything is a coin" thing, a stream of thoughts:
1) What
2) If attention was the goal of creators, we wouldn't have come to web3. Chasing virality wasn't the goal, rather it was creating work that we could have some control over the value we got from it.
3) Not enough tools exist that allow for us to use custom ERC20 tokens to do things. We won't be able to create any meaningful experiences for our collectors
4) Are they even collectors anymore? They'd be traders now, right? Trading on the attention of the thing we made?
5) If this is the mechanism then the value of our work is simplified to just the amount of attention it can get as opposed to the many other things that make something valuable.
5.1) Money is not the only thing of value
6) The idea that making work that is limited in quantity is leaving money on the table may be right, but that doesn't mean you're leaving value on the table.
7) There's nothing wrong with scarcity.
