there’s nothing wrong with doing your best and falling short, making a mistake - the whole, you can do everything right and still lose; that’s not unfair, that’s life

but there’s everything wrong with willfully ignoring everyone warning you against an obviously poor decision 

this is not specific to any 1 project fwiw
