I feel like this is a cheap shot at Friendtech. They combined crypto financialization with social, it's not a bad idea. Will it pan out long term? Who knows?

Still not sure on why it isn’t bitclout 2.0, actively looking for someone to explain where the value is for the user. Especially when they’re surrendering privacy and data ownership to… talk with a chatbot or gofer? Smart people I trust like it but I’m not sold as of yet

I'm still trying to find the value in apps like Facebook lol 😅, think the value is made up, for me it's just fun to mess around with for now.

FB has pretty well defined value on multiple tiers: for clients it’s access to your eyes and data and for users it’s the ability to connect and converse “freely”and for “free”.. Lots of things we could/should be improving from FB-type models but not sure how or where friend tech is doing that

In Friendtech each room is like its own NFT gated community of friends, you're hopefully paying to get exclusive content or something out of that room. I think it's a cool concept. Also, fees might reduce spam.

NFT-gated chat isn’t novel though. I guess one of my concerns is also that we’re just seeing a new way for the same cohort of influencer-types to enrich themselves to the detriment of their followers without providing functional value (or dare I say utility lol)
