Why is this function in the contract where owner can change balance? 👀 Since the contract is not renounced I assume this could be addressed and removed? ..... would probably bring more trust and volume to the token.

Hmmm ... this is a red flag for a project. Dev should please do sth about this.

I agree, its just odd because I know the devs involved in the original contract & this Base one, all of them are standup guys - so its not a matter of being worried about them rugging or anything, I'm just wondering if theres a reason for it to be there & if we can get the contract updated to remove it.

That's true. Someone needs to know if there's a reason for that. But, I think it's not appropriate.
