Yes, a long way to go — but we said the same thing during the TCP/IP vs OSI wars. 

Ultimately, whichever approach gets the most real world adoption and practicality wins — but that’s all up to the apps.

So I hear the term superchain a bunch and conceptualize it kinda like a Cosmos of sorts for l2. Is the even close to right? What does it mean for the average user vs the average dev? 

TL;DR I don't know what the superchain is and I guess I am not too afraid to ask.
