imo friendtech is the worst omen for social and society.

my #1 critique of social is that it’s turned us into dopamine addicts, consumed by competition, constantly projecting an image for others moreso than for ourselves.

friendtech takes this and… financializes it? and some of us are excited by it?

Seen that state myself in person while visiting Sacramento the other day. Some woman was sitting at a bar waiting on her friend, AirPods in, just full on zombied out zombscrolling. 🧟‍♀️

Nothing turned me off more from TikTok than seeing secondhand how people use it in public and enter a zombie state.

At least FT encourages time away from the app by being down 70% of the time
