An enduring feature of crypto is last cycle's bad ideas get wrapped in new tokens in the new cycle. Decentralized compute / competing with centralized cloud service providers is among the dumbest I've seen cycle over cycle.

Cutting over to Sepolia on Trezor has been a massive pain in the dick. Strictly not working with "Strict" safety checks, even for simple shit like just sending Sepolia ETH between two wallets lol. We're *so* fucking early. Future of France 🫡 🇫🇷

Turns out I am the only person who hated Dune Pt. 2. I get that you cannot adapt 1:1 between formats effectively. I accept that. What I cannot accept is completely rewriting core characters for really no reason whatsoever.

IP is the ultimate moat but my feeling, and this isn’t scientific, is that the proverbial “people” severely underestimate the time it takes to build truly lindy IP that people actually care about.

Steam is the one that doesn’t quite fit in that it was a developer building a distro system for patching vs explicitly building a platform. The games for Valve came well before the platform. For Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sega the platform was the product from the get go.

I’ve spent the last week in an amazingly lovely, albeit very poor, country. Seeing the impact that 3% merchant fees from Visa have in commerce in places like this only doubles my belief in the systems we’re building and goals of crypto and blockchain infrastructure.

Super interesting move from Microsoft. Consoles in general just feel very Y2K in today’s gaming market to me. I own two consoles but can’t remember the last time I played on one vs a PC or iPhone

Given Disney has already licensed IP to Fortnite and given Disney’s history with deals like this I think the ambition is much bigger. Also, bring Disney, I expect them to absolutely fumble this.
