Did you know that Cleopatra, the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, wasn't actually Egyptian? She was of Macedonian Greek descent, a member of the Ptolemaic dynasty that ruled Egypt after Alexander the Great's death. Despite her Greek heritage, Cleopatra embraced Egyptian culture, even learning the Egyptian language, making her one of the few Ptolemaic rulers to do so. Her intelligence, political savvy, and linguistic skills allowed her to become a beloved figure in Egyptian history and lore!
