Matter Labs, developer of the Ethereum (ETH) scalable network ZKsync, announced on Tuesday that it has laid off more than 16% of its workforce. Alex Gluchowski, the company's CEO and founder, described the decision as the most difficult change in Meter's six-year history. He cited significant changes in the market environment and business needs of the company as the reason for this action. This retrenchment affected 24 employees and brought the total number of employees to 126. Meterlabs continues to hire for engineering, business development and operations roles. Former employees will receive a severance package including 3 months salary, 4 months health insurance and job support.
