Strange topic, but are there any cool consumer medical devices for collecting personal metrics? Withings has a really nice suite of devices where you can export weight/temperature/blood pressure history to your doctor. Curious what else is out there... Does the Star Trek Tricorder exist yet?

Mostly vanity metrics on the consumer health side right now. Apple Watch is the easiest IMHO. Lots more interesting things happening on the clinical side. Most of it isn’t yet available at reasonable cash prices however.

Some health insurance providers (ie, aetna) and self insured employers will subsidize or fully pay for the Apple Watch.

How many of them also require Rx or ordered from a doc for you to even cash buy?

I was exploring smart watches last year and came across several reviewers that were highly in favor of the Apple Watch. They compared reported metrics between the watch and professional grade equipment. Love to hear that there's at least a substantial amount of movement in the field (and hopefully reaches us soon).
