Experiment: I’m developing a mini app from my phone with Manus.im. Let’s see how this goes.

Five min in, and it’s researched all Farcaster API and frame development requirements. 

Designed the logic based on the guidance I provided. 

Set up next.js project.

Implemented Farcaster data fetching and analysis.

Created the mini app UI.

Tester the functionality.

Prepared deployment instructions.

Despite saying it was deployed, it is not in fact live. 

It’s now back tracked and is going to send me the code and a readme file with deployment instructions.

I was skeptical when the agent said it could build and deploy, from my phone.

This is more in line with what I expected. 

Still very impressive. 

It’s easy to envision a world in which I can create and deploy a mini-app all from your phone.  

With more than 5 minutes and some more direct inputs (my Neynar API key, github access, Vercel access), it may even be possible today.

It’s now created the files. They look quite good. (Not going to share since it would ruin the surprise when I can deploy it).

It didn’t immediately provide a way to download them but says I can save them to a cloud provider or email them to myself. Don’t want to give it access to my drive so going to ask for email.

It shared everything in typescript. It’s huge. Too big to email. 

It’s possible to share the Manus thread so that’s what I’m going to try.

Accessing the shared thread worked. 

Will revisit tomorrow on my laptop and see if it can actually be deployed or if we’ll get stuck in the endless vibecoded-app debugging cycle.

Paused and asked for my permission to deploy. (It’s unclear where it’s deploying it so this will be interesting)

It made an error stating that I could visit the mini app at the URL I provided, when I had not provided one.

Super curious about what the instructions say.
