Reading Journey to the West. First observations. - Goddamn this monkey is annoying - Monkey King is OP at the start. Holy crap he's beating up the Emperor of Heaven and Buddha. Odd story progression with a character so OP so early. - The Christine Sun translation is modernized and cringe. I wish I could find a better audiobook version. "Living his best life" and "communications director" were too much. - The echoes in Dragon Ball run so deep. Goku is less of a prick and more an innocent than Monkey King.

Monkey King is irritatingly powerful, translation could be better. Dragon Ball similarities are interesting
