In my field, US regulation helps businesses engage with a problem they otherwise wouldn’t know how to solve, and mitigate risk through box-ticking, greenwashing. US regulation is paid for, and crafted by, business lobbyists. As it gets lifted, most targeted US companies will take their clues from the EU.
