Bought a PS5 earlier this year, barely play it. Thought I’d sink an hour into a game this afternoon. Had to copy/install new game, log in (reset password cos too long now), update console, update controllers, list of other updates.
Over an hour later, still updating.
I’ll prob finish updates and turn it off.

Totally. I just bought a little gameboy shaped retro handheld thing recently that has over 20,000 games on it from all the retro consoles up to PS2 iirc. It’s crazy, turn it on, boot and select a game, you’re in and playing in less than 20s.

This is why I stopped playing consoles at ps3. The process of authentication, updates, and notifications buzz killed it all.

Turn on. Play. Anything else takes away from it.
