Aim is to stick to the seven apps shown (more or less), and push everything else to my laptop.

Reasoning is: laptop time is *intentional*, whereas phone time is almost always *unintentional*

A minimal home screen isn't much good if apps are just a swipe away. You can disable app suggestions in Settings > Siri & Search
