As a 5 year DeFi veteran and ex-lead of a >1B TVL DeFi protocol, I've been increasingly discouraged by the lack of diversity in DeFi breakthroughs. There is too much "wrap/deposit this asset for another layer of gov token yield" DeFi masturbation in this cycle.

On Christmas in the year 2022 Solana had pretty much reached the bottom. Frank had just announced that Degods and Y00ts will be moving to Eth and Polygone. Morale was at an all time low.
