Hawaii’s tradition is setting off the mother load of fireworks on New Year's Eve to scare off evil spirits (influence of Chinese immigrants to the islands). I love this tradition, but my dog does not. So we are playing tourist in Waikiki, spending this NYE in a hotel to escape the loud booms.
