The GameStop NFT situation isn't a surprise. Storing NFT metadata & images offchain using 3rd party services or even own servers is a common, yet problematic practice that undermines the ethos of decentralization & digital data ownership. So the only thing you own is a link. Now think of ENS. What will happen to all your ENS domains when they turn off their servers?
