More than 30% of South Koreans invest in cryptocurrency. After the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential election, the number of holders of cryptocurrencies in South Korea has increased significantly.
According to local media, there were 610,000 more crypto investors in the country last month. The representative of the Democratic Party of South Korea, Lim Kwang Hyun, said that at the end of November their number exceeded 15.6 million. That's how many users are registered on the five largest Korean exchanges Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit and Gopax.
This is more than 30% of South Korea's population, which currently numbers 51.7 million people.
This is the first time that statistics related to digital assets have appeared in local media. Yonhap News agency reported that they were collected in accordance with the new rules regarding crypto exchanges, which were adopted by the authorities in July this year. 10 replies
