Two chefs of a local hotel restaurant in Nantong, China, were fined 160,000 yuan ($22,000) and sentenced to 2 years in prison for pouring anti-diarrheal medicine into their customers' food. These two fraudulent chefs used expired food to prepare food for customers and added antidiarrheal drugs such as "gentamicin sulfate" to the food in order not to be exposed. Gentamicin sulfate is an antibiotic used to treat diarrhea, and with the help of this type of drug, these two chefs reduce the risk of stomach problems and stomachaches in their customers and the exposure of their fraud.
