Wow, very interesting. 

I recently spoke to a guy who works with flight-planning at a large airline. Often there is someone how needs to decide which flights to delay so that others can run on time. Wonder how that sort of info and decision-making impacts/get impacted by a system like this.

Yeah, but only ~30% of delayed flights are due to air carrier delay according to Bureau of Transportation Statistics (see image)
