@usersteen.eth it looks like the issue is insufficient liquidity on Uniswap. We’re working on smarter routing to get around this. In the meantime, there’s not much we can do other than providing liquidity to the pool.

Plenty of liquidity on WETH/DEGEN and USDC/WETH pairs which should be good enough. I guess that's what they mean by "working on smarter routing".  We shouldn't need a USDC/DEGEN pair.

All that is quantifiable though. Two hops across highly liquid pairs would be fine for all but the largest volume swaps.

Every swap on the route involves a fee and an opportunity for slippage. For actual commerce at scale that can matter. Having direct liquidity against a usd stable is probably a good thing long term for easy fiat buy in/out.
