Hey Farcasters, @jessepollak tells me people here are interested in hearing more about what the Base engineering team is up to. Let me tell you a bit about one aspect of this work, which is our contributions to the OP Stack. 1/

Over the past couple of weeks we've focused primarily on contributing to the upcoming Canyon fork and extending the OP stack to take advantage of EIP-4844 for when it goes live on mainnet. We don't know exactly when Canyon will activate, but there's good momentum to make it happen quite soon! 2/

If you've been developing on Base or another OP stack chain, you're probably aware that you can't currently take advantage of the EVM features added with the Ethereum mainnet Shanhai fork (such as PUSH0). 3/

The good news is we've made the necessary changes to bring these features to OP Stack, and they are locked and loaded to go live as part of Canyon. 4/

Next, we pushed a fix for an issue with how transaction receipt roots are computed by op-geth, which we turned up as part of another effort to provide a Rust implementation. (Multi-client strategy FTW!) This fix will help secure state sync for when it's a standard part of any OP chain. 5/
